3-5 years
Tots tennis programmes are for 3-5 years old's. Children will be able to learn the basics of tennis through fun activities based around agility, balance, and co-ordination whilst using a racket and ball.
Red
5-8 years
Mini Red tennis is for children aged 8 and under. The game is played over mini tennis nets with smaller rackets and slower balls. Children will continue to develop technique whilst learning more about tactics and competition.
Orange
8-9 years
Mini Orange tennis is for children aged 8-9 years old and is played on the traditional tennis court with modifications to the net height and court parameters. Players use larger rackets and a faster ball.
Green
9-10 years
Mini Green tennis is for children aged 9-10 years old and is played on the full sized traditional tennis court. Players are now using larger to full size rackets and the speed of the ball is slightly slower than a conventional tennis ball.
Group Sessions
Group sessions are a great way for children to learn tennis in a fun environment with players of a similar age and ability. Our group coaching sessions are a perfect introduction to Tennis, our programmes incorporate all the main themes involved in Tennis so children can start to understand the whole game. Improver Session
Improver sessions are aimed at players that have some experience of tennis or are moving up from our group coaching sessions. Improver sessions bridge the gap between our introduction group sessions and our invitaional sessions, ensuring players can stay in similar ability groups.
Invitational Sessions
Our Invitational squads are for players that are starting to play a little more seriously and who want to start competing in team tennis and external competitions. Invitational squads follow a progressive set of lesson themes covering different court situations and tactical intentions. Invitational squads are a great motivator for children who want to progress to the next level. Mini Tennis Camps
Our Mini Tennis camps run across the year in February half term, Easter holidays, May half term, Summer holidays and October half term. We have two levels of tennis camps for mini tennis players.
Mini tennis camps - Our popular mini tennis camps are a great way for children to stay active in the holidays. Ideal for mini tennis players and first time players the camps are a great way to meet new friends. The tennis camps involve group coaching, co-ordination skills and fun games.
LTA Youth Start
LTA Tennis Youth Start formerly Tennis for kids is a national initiative introduced by the LTA in 2016 to celebrate Great Britain's historic Davis Cup victory. Youth Start offers every child the chance to take part in their first tennis lessons in a safe, relaxed environment. Mini Tennis Competition
We aim to provide opportunities for every mini tennis player to experience competition. We find children enjoy the sport most when they are competing with friends. We organise regular friendlies with other clubs and for more serious players we provide Team Tennis opportunities. We also provide guidance to all players wanting to compete in external competition.
All players wishing to participate in competition need to register for a British Tennis Child Membership (BTM). Its free and with a mini tennis rating you can enter your child into LTA competitions, from fun local tournaments to regional, county and national competitions.
